The No. 9 state-ranked Farmers started off the District 13-3A campaign with a pair of victories.
They beat visiting Whitewright 10-0 in six innings and came back to defeat host Caddo Mills with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.
“Those were good wins for us. Lyle (Hibbitts) was good enough to not give Whitewright much of a chance and our guys were really ready to play,” head coach Jon Nordin said.
