Mosquito repellent and prevention is important with the spread of West Nile and Zika viruses.

As summer blossoms into full swing providing opportunities for fun outdoors, it is imperative that Texans take precautions against mosquitos.

With the Zika and West Nile viruses being in Texas, prevention should take be on the forefront of Collin County residents’ minds.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, while Zika is on the minds of everyone, the West Nile virus is also a concern this year with the first cast already being confirmed in late May in the state.
