Farmersville’s Sparks of Freedom celebration is only a week away and will boast a variety of family-fun events including sack races, water slides, vendors and fire truck tours.

Area residents can choose from a number of locations to celebrate Independence Day and can stretch out their celebrations for more than a week.

Fourth of July celebrations start this Saturday, June 25, and run through Monday, July 4.

The cities of Allen and Josephine get a jump on the holiday by hosting Independence Day events more than a week early, both of them on July 25.
