Is there anything more American than a summer road trip? Texas is filled with great places to enjoy open skies and endless roads, and while many people plan their vacations around reaching dream destinations, I think most would agree that the real fun comes in the journey itself. Seeing where the road takes you can be the best part of any adventure. There is just something extra special about finding fun places to stop, explore and eat along the way. From old time cafes, to hole-in-the-wall diners, you are likely to discover a whole host of hidden gems when exploring the open road, including many a gas station serving up food along with their more traditional fuel.
