School crossing guard program to start in city

by | Sep 22, 2016 | Latest

School crossings will soon be a lot safer for Farmersville students as the city of Farmersville is implementing a school crossing guard program.

According to information shared by Farmersville Police Chief Mike Sullivan Sept. 13, funds were discovered through Collin County that the police department receives and that must be spent on child safety programs.

“We have about $24,000 currently in the fund and we receive about $4,000 a year,” Chief Sullivan said. “It’s a fairly narrow scope of what we can use the funds for.”
