WINNSBORO – Defense once again proved to be the difference maker last Friday during a District 7-3A Div. I football contest.
Farmersville (6-0, 2-0) held Winnsboro (4-2, 1-1) scoreless in the second half and got a pair of scores from the offense in a 17-7 win.
“Our defense gave us opportunities to stay in the ball game, and we were able to score some points in the second half and pick up the win,” head coach Sammy Burnett said. “After that nine-minute drive (from Winnsboro) in the first quarter we adjusted and played well from there on out.”
