Lynn Hendrex, Quilt of Valor Chairperson from the Farmersville Quilt Guild, gets a thank you from Farmersville VFW Post 7426 member Darrell Moore. Moore’s quilt is put together from blocks made by local guild members.
It starts with a scrap of fabric. This miniscule piece of left over fabric has no idea it has a new purpose to become part of something much greater: a quilt made of love and honor.
For Quilts of Valor, these blankets are even more treasured and beloved.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts.
For the Farmersville Quilt Guild, the most recent batch of quilts were awarded to area veterans and filled with hard work, love and honor.
