The city now has a new mowing contract after the bid was unanimously awarded to Mow Time, at a cost of $75,395.
The not-to-exceed cost includes the city’s mowing, edging and park maintenance.
Other bids were placed by the current contract holder Oak Grove Landscape and Irrigation with a base bid of $85,765 and Weldon’s Lawn and Tree LLC with a base bid of $88,570.
City Manager Ben White explained they were rebidding the mowing contract because after controversy surrounding the contract last year he wished to clear the air.
