Spring is in full bloom and area churches, nonprofits and civic organizations have planned Easter activities that will keep parents and children busy over the next two weeks.

There are several events for Easter-lovers scheduled in Farmersville.

The annual VFW Post Easter Egg hunt will occur at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31 behind the post located at 671 W. Audie Murphy Pkwy.

There will be three hunts, divided by area including birth to 3- years-old, 4- to 10-years old and 10 and above.

Each age group will have a prize egg and be eligible to win an Easter basket full of goodies.

There will also be lunch provided including hot dogs, chips and drinks.

At First Baptist Church of Farmersville, the annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be taking place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 next to the youth warehouse in the parking lot and grassy areas located on Farmersville Parkway.

There will be bounce houses, train ride, petting zoo and Easter Egg hunts.

The event is free, organizers said.
