Frying up fantastic funds

Marvin Smith and Tommy Hickman over see hush puppy operations at the Farmersville Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Fish Fry held Saturday, May 19. Firefighter Andrew Sutherland learns tricks of the trade from the more experienced helpers.

Fun and funds were in no shortage at the annual Farmersville Volunteer Fire Department’s Fish Fry.

“We really appreciate everyone showing up and supporting the department,” Fire Chief Kim Morris said. “We received lots of complements on the food.”

At this year’s event, Clay Potter hosted a live auction, which raised funds for the department. A silent auction also took place.
