Breaking news: Emergency services respond to fire at junior high

A small dryer fire broke out in the Farmersville Junior High School Wednesday, Aug. 22. (Wyndi Veigel/The Farmersville Times)

Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, emergency services responded to a commercial fire alarm at the Farmersville Junior High School. Upon arrival, the fire department discovered smoke in the dressing rooms attached to the gymnasium and detected heat coming from a dryer in the dryer room.

A small fire in one of the dryers was found and extinguished. 

According to Superintendent Jeff Adams, class will be held at normal start time Thursday, Aug. 23.

No one was injured in the fire. Farmersville ISD Police, Farmersville PD, Farmersville FD, Princeton FD and AMR all responded to the fire.
