An agenda item about restrictions for closing the downtown square drew a large crowd at last week’s Main Street Board meeting.
The item read, “discuss creating guidelines for restricting square closings for downtown events,” and drew both public comments and comments from the board.
A petition with more than 100 names on it was presented at the meeting as well. Rebecca Biggs, a vendor with Country Roads Trading Post presented the petition to the board.
The petition stated that though Main Street businesses, building owners and stakeholders appreciated the accomplishments of the Main Street program for the past 19 years, they were concerned over discussions at recent Main Street meetings.
