In the last century, multiple history-making events have occurred including the birth of Joyce Cagle.
Born Sept. 28, 1918 in Decatur to Byrtie and Dud Roark, Joyce will soon join the ranks of centenarians throughout the U.S.
Joyce, mother of Farmersville resident Billie Goldstein, will celebrate with her family at three different events in her honor at Villa Asuncion in Princeton where she resides.
Throughout the course of Joyce’s lifetime, she has witnessed events many only read about in history books. The Great Depression, Prohibition, World War II, Equal Rights Amendment, Amelia Earhart’s first solo flight across the Atlantic, Pearl Harbor, wars, inventions, the first man on the moon and so much more.
