The city water department is drowning and the only way to save them is to throw costs to consumers.
Because of this Farmersville residents will see a water rate increase as city council unanimously voted to increase the base rate.
“We’ve got issues in this department,” City Manager Ben White explained to the council at the Sept. 25 city council meeting. “We need to raise revenue so we can make the water department solvent.”
The city will be raising all base water rates.
