Police investigate shooting overnight

An investigation is underway regarding a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Oct. 16 in the 300 block of N. Hamilton Street in Farmersville.

According to information released by Police Chief Mike Sullivan, officers were dispatched at 3:15 a.m. in regard to a shooting that had just occurred. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male adult victim who had been shot multiple times.

The case is being investigated as an attempted homicide. The police department does have leads into a suspect at this time.

EMS personnel arrived and treated the victim for his injuries and transported the victim to the hospital. The condition of the victim was listed as stable when the victim went into surgery.

The case is under investigation and the exact motive is not known at this time, though Sullivan said there is no reason for the general public to be concerned.
