PD to get new records management system

by | Nov 1, 2018 | Latest

Farmersville Police Department will soon get a new records management system thanks in part to a grant.

The NIBERS (National Incident-Based Reporting System) grant, worth $78,523, will allow the department to present crime statistics to the FBI more quickly.

The new software will also help the department become more efficient, according to Police Chief Mike Sullivan, since it will help them eliminate double entering information. With the department’s current system, its officers must enter information for their own department and then once again on the county system.

“This will eliminate the need for that,” Sullivan said.
