Intermittent 911 outages being reported

by | Dec 28, 2018 | Latest

Intermittent rolling 911 blackouts have been plaguing not only Collin County, but the entire United States over the past 48 hours.

North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), which is responsible for the operation of 911 for the regional area, began advising residents Thursday, Dec. 27 of 911 being down throughout the area. According to NCTCOG, the problem is related to the national CenturyLink rolling outage.

NCTCOG advised as of 6:20 a.m. this morning that 911 should be back up, however, outages are still being reported in parts of Collin County.

In a Nixel alert, the Farmersville Police Department advised citizens to call 972-547-5350 in the event that 911 calls do not go through.
