Unemployment rate 3.2 percent in county

At 3.2 percent, the unemployment rate for Collin County in June was slightly below that of Texas and the United States, figures released by Texas Workforce Commission show.

Unemployment for the state in June was 3.6 percent and for the country was 3.8 percent.

“June’s unemployment rate is a historic win for employers and workers across the state,” said TWC Chair Ruth R. Hughs. “It is a reflection of our excellent businesses, skilled workforce and the hard work of every Texan.”

The jobless rate for Collin County was 3.2 percent. Out of a workforce of 559,782, there were 17,433 Collin County residents out of work.

The Texas jobless rate for June is broken down into 501,107 workers unemployed out of a total labor force of 13.87 million. And the national rate breaks down to 6.3 percent unemployed from a labor force of 163.3 million.
