Farmersville Police Department and Farmersville Fire Department officials are excited to get to meet their neighbors and National Night Out offers a perfect time to do so.

This year National Night Out is being held in downtown Farmersville from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6.

There will be a variety of entertainment opportunities including a jousting platform, obstacle course and a dunk tank.

Free food and beverages will be provided for the event.

National Night Out is an annual campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. It is designated to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement and first responders while encouraging a sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police, first responders and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

“We are really excited for everyone to come out and take part in National Night Out,” Sgt. Frank Gonzalez said.

Farmersville’s Citizens On Patrol group will also be present to aid in the event.
