Farmersville found themselves down 3-0 quickly in the area round, their season on the line.
Taking on Brownsboro at Crandall High School Friday night, they battled back with three runs in the top of the third inning, but couldn’t take the lead in a 5-3 loss. Brownsboro scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, one off a wild pitch and one off an error, that gave them the lead for good.
Logan Dale drove in the first run in the third on a sacrifice fly that initially cut into Brownsboro’s lead, followed by an error that drove in two more runs. Farmersville’s offense struggled to sustain pressure and drive in runs, getting only two hits in the game.
The Farmers finish the season 25-6 overall, winning another district title with a 10-0 season. Brownsboro advances to face the winner of Canton and Liberty-Eylau in the regional quarterfinals.
