The annual Sparks of Freedom celebrations will be held Thursday, July 4 from 5p.m. to 10 p.m. at Southlake Park.

Fireworks will light up the sky Thursday, July 4 at the annual Sparks of Freedom celebration at Southlake Park.

The event, hosted by the Farmersville Fire Department, will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Firefighter Penny Phillips said there is no entrance or parking fee, but donations will be accepted at the gate.

“There will be a $5 wristband fee per child for the kids’ zone,” Phillips said. “They will be able to go in and out throughout the entirety of the event. Cash or Venmo.”

The event will feature music by the Clay Potter Band, food, bounce houses and vendors. Featured food vendors will include J. C.’s Tacos, Ye Ye Concessions, Rolling Noodles and Dumplings, 7 Cities Seafood, Kona Ice Rocks and Sippie.

Phillips said proceeds raised at the event will go toward buying tools, sending firefighters to outside training classes and bunker gear for the members of the Volunteer Fire Department.
