Celebrating 25 years of leadership

by | Jul 11, 2024 | Latest

The Rev. Bart Barber was celebrated for his 25 years of service as the lead pastor of First Baptist Church Farmersville Sunday, July 7.

The Rev. Bart Barber has been preaching the Gospel to his Farmersville flock for 25 years.

On Sunday, July 7, they gathered to offer the senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville a heartfelt thank you for the leadership he has provided to his congregation and to the greater church.

Indeed, Barber, who recently stepped down as president of the national Southern Baptist Convention, barely missed a stride as he continued his normal pulpit and pastoral duties at First Baptist. Barber served two one-year terms as SBC president. The SBC is the largest Protestant organization in the country, but as Barber said upon taking the post to lead the SBC, “It’s a part-time volunteer job. My obligation is to the people of First Baptist.”
