Registration opening soon for Citizens Police Academy

Farmersville Police Chief Mike Sullivan is putting out a call to interested residents of the city he has sworn to protect and serve to join him in obtaining a little better understanding of what goes into the often-complicated task of police work.

The COVID-19 pandemic shut down the Farmersville Citizens Police Academy in 2020 and again this year. Sullivan, though, said he expects to bring the academy back in 2022. It is an effort to educate residents on the job “we do on a daily basis,” Sullivan said. “We show them the tasks we perform, even the monotony of it, the whole thing,” he said.
