The Farmersville Rotary Club is continuing its good works and is looking for those wanting to be a part of its mission.

The 83-year service club, which meets each Tuesday, is part of Rotary International.

Currently, the Farmersville Rotary Club is hosting a membership drive.

“We are inviting all service-oriented people to be our guests at a club meeting,” Membership Director Bryon Wiebold said.

Rotary club members are part of a diverse group of professional leaders working to address various communities and international service needs. Through community service and other means, Rotary club members help promote peace and understanding throughout the world.

General qualifications for members are adults of good character and good business or professional reputation, who hold, or have held, an executive or managerial position with discretionary authority in any worthy or recognized business or profession. In Farmersville, the Rotary club is actively involved in many service projects including food drives for the Farmersville Outreach Alliance, Codes of Compassion, assisting a family or organization in need, supporting Farmersville Boy Scout Troop 310, helping with the Angel Tree program, sponsoring blood drives, sponsoring and serving dinner at the Samaritan Inn in McKinney, providing the scholarships for high school seniors, supporting Old Time Saturday and Audie Murphy Day, hosting a clean-up and maintenance for IOOF Cemetery and providing drivers for Meals on Wheels.

Vocational service projects include a presentation to the Farmersville Firefighter and Police Officer of the Year, four-way test high-school speech competition, conducting a club meeting in a local business and providing Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) yearly scholarships for FHS students.

Throughout the world, there are 1.4 million members and 46,000 clubs. The Farmersville club also participates in international service projects such as providing polio vaccinations.

Those interested in visiting the Rotary Club can contact club president Chad Engbrock at 972-442-5515 ext. 29, or any Farmersville Rotarian.
