One week after falling to state-ranked Aubrey on the road in three sets, the Farmersville volleyball team returned to the comforts of Farmersville Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 2 for a non-district match against Greenville.

It was all Lady Farmers on this night as Farmersville cruised to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-20) triumph over Greenville.

That match was the start of a busy week for the Lady Farmers.

Two days later on Thursday, Sept. 4, Farmersville traveled to Whitehouse for the start of the Whitehouse Varsity Volleyball Tournament.

To begin the proceedings, Farmersville faced Pleasant Grove in a rematch of a Class 4A Division II bi-district playoff match from last year that the Lady Hawks won in three sets.

Pleasant Grove again got the better of Farmersville with the Lady Hawks posting a 2-0 (25-18, 25-13) sweep of the Lady Farmers.

Farmersville bounced back to win its last two matches of the day, defeating Texas in a three-set thriller (25-20, 25-27, 26-24) and Carthage in two sets (25-21, 25-20).

Last Friday, Farmersville traveled to Van Alstyne for a match against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Farmers battled but were unable to overcome a slow start in a 3-0 loss to the Lady Panthers (25-17, 25-22, 25-20).

Farmersville returned to Whitehouse last Saturday for the final day of the Whitehouse Varsity Volleyball Tournament.

The Lady Farmers began the day with a dominant 2-0 win (25-12, 25-10) over Center.

Farmersville was unable to overcome a sluggish start in its next match, a 2-1 loss (25-16, 22-25, 25-22) against Canton.

The results of Farmersville’s final match of the day against Carthage were unavailable at press time.

The Lady Farmers will get another shot at Pleasant Grove this Friday at 4 p.m. at Farmersville Arena.

The Lady Farmers will travel to North Lanar next Tuesday before commencing District 13-4A play on Tuesday, Sept. 23 against Sunnyvale.
