The Greenville Police Department says it has arrested a 19-year-old man wanted in connection with an attack on an elderly resident living in the 1100 block of Commerce Drive.

Police Lt. Brandon West said officers responded about 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, to a call reporting an assault. West said officers found a male victim with head injuries, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police also found the body of a deceased male inside the house, the lieutenant said.

West said police obtained an aggravated assault warrant for Avery Jaiden Wood, who was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 23.

“This subject has been arrested and is in police custody,” the department said.
