Addressing aging infrastructure and escalating maintenance needs, Farmersville City Council reviewed a series of proposed repairs to multiple city-owned buildings during its Tuesday, Jan. 20 meeting, approving funding for some projects while flagging others for further evaluation.
Mayor pro tem Mike Henry outlined the most pressing concerns, beginning with HVAC and ductwork issues at both the police and fire stations. Repairs to those systems are estimated at $26,800, after mold was discovered in the ductwork at both facilities, Henry said.
Henry also discussed roofing concerns at several city buildings. A bid of $145,000 to address roofing issues at the police and fire stations was described as cost-prohibitive, with Henry saying staff would seek more feasible options. In addition, foundation problems have been identified at those buildings, and three inspections are scheduled in the coming weeks to determine the extent of the issues.
