Kristi Mondy and Coleman Strickland have filed for Place 3 and Place 1, respectively. on the Farmersville City Council.
Mondy was appointed to fill Place 3 in June 2025 and Strickland was elected to Place 1 in May 2023.
If there is a contested race, voters will choose representatives for Place 1 and 3.
The filing period for candidates closes at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13. The deadline to register to vote is Thursday, April 2.
Early voting by personal appearance will begin Monday, April 20, and continue through Tuesday, April 28. The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is Monday, April 20. Because the statutory deadline falls on San Jacinto Day, applications must be received by the preceding business day.
Election Day voting will be held from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
Mail ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day if the carrier envelope is not postmarked. If the envelope is postmarked by 7 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day, the ballot may be received by 5 p.m. Monday, May 4. Different deadlines may apply to military or overseas voters.
Texas law requires voters to present identification when voting in person. Acceptable photo identification includes a Texas driver license, Texas Election Identification Certificate, Texas personal identification card or Texas license to carry a handgun issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety; a United States military identification card with a photograph; a United States citizenship certificate with a photograph; or a United States passport. Except for the U.S. citizenship certificate, identification must be current or have expired no more than four years before being presented.
Election Identification Certificates are available at DPS driver license offices during regular business hours.
Voters who do not possess an acceptable photo ID and cannot reasonably obtain one may present a supporting form of identification, such as a valid voter registration certificate, an original certified birth certificate, or a copy or original of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or government document showing the voter’s name and address. An original document is required if it contains a photograph.
Voters using a supporting form of identification must also complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration at the polling place.
