Farmersville Independent School District is welcoming families for the upcoming school year and providing enrollment guidance for Pre-Kindergarten students and transfer applicants.
The district states a child is eligible for free Pre-K if the student is 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, lives within FISD boundaries and meets at least one qualifying requirement. Those requirements include being unable to speak or comprehend English or living in a home where Spanish is the primary language, being economically disadvantaged, being a child of an active-duty member of the U.S. armed forces, being a child of a service member injured or killed while on active duty, currently or previously being in foster care, or being the child of a police officer, firefighter or emergency medical responder seriously injured or killed in the line of duty who received the Star of Texas Award.
All Pre-K students must be potty trained before the first day of school.
More information about eligibility is available through the Texas Education Agency early childhood education website.
Farmersville ISD also provided information for families seeking to transfer into the district, noting that new student registration is transitioning to new software. The district said registration for new students will open in July 2026, and families will receive an email at that time with instructions to complete the process.
Campus contact information is available for families who have additional questions.
