Farmersville’s signature community festival will return this fall after a collaborative effort by local organizations revived the event following concerns it would not be held in 2026.
Organizers announced that the 46th Annual Old Time Saturday will take place Saturday, Oct. 3, marking the return of a tradition that had been in jeopardy earlier this year because of a lack of volunteers available to organize the event through Farmersville Centennial Inc.
In response, a new partnership was formed among several local organizations and governmental entities to ensure the festival continues. Participating groups include the City of Farmersville, Farmersville Chamber of Commerce, Farmersville Centennial Inc., Rotary International, Farmersville Community Development Corporation, Farmersville Parks and Recreation and Farmersville ISD.
Representatives from the partnership group are scheduled to meet this week to begin determining details for this year’s event, including activities, entertainment, vendors and other attractions.
While this year’s schedule of events is still being finalized, Old Time Saturday has traditionally featured a full day of activities, including the Audie Murphy Heroes Run, a parade, the Silver Centennial Citizen, the crowning of Little Mr. and Miss Old Time Saturday, arts and crafts exhibits, live entertainment, food vendors, a classic car show and more.
In the past, funds raised from OTS entry fees have benefited Farmersville Centennial Inc., which supports the library, Senior Center and other community organizations.
The annual event has been a staple of the community for more than four decades, bringing residents and visitors to downtown Farmersville for a day celebrating the city’s history, businesses and community organizations.
Additional information about the festival schedule and opportunities for participation are expected to be released as planning efforts move forward.
The 2026 event will mark the 46th edition of Old Time Saturday and continue a tradition that has become one of Farmersville’s most recognized annual celebrations.
