A Capital Murder arrest has been made in regard to the death of a 1-year-old girl from Farmersville.
According to information released by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, fire, ambulance and police personnel were called to Pendleton Street in Farmersville regarding a 1-year-old not breathing. Lifesaving medical treatment, including CPR, was started and the child was transported to the hospital via ground ambulance where she was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
As a matter of procedure, and in joint partnership, the Farmersville PD, Collin County Child Advocacy Center and Sheriff’s Office started an investigation and crime scene processing. Further investigation from the Collin County Medical Examiner revealed injuries and trauma consistent with an intentional act versus an act from natural causes.
Further investigation and interviews with family members led to a warrant for the child’s father, Adrian Rafael Bautista, for Capital Murder for an individual under 6. Bautista was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 7 at his home in Farmersville.
In Texas, Capital Murder charges carry the possibility of the death penalty and are First Degree felonies.
Bautista is being held on a $1 million bond.
