Youth members from First United Methodist Church members have been hard at work participating at U.M. Army, a unique mission opportunity.

U.M. Army, which stands for United Methodist Action Reach-out Mission by Youth, is a mission trip for youth, young adults and their adult mentors.

The opportunity is not to “sell” a mission trip but rather participate with other church groups and individuals to combine your skills, talents and resources to do God’s work, church camp organizer Tiffany Barber said. Barber also serves as youth minister for First United Methodist Church in Farmersville.

“We spent the week working together in nearby communities to meet home repair and maintenance needs. We worshipped, learned from one another, shared fellowship and built relationships with our neighbors in need of assistance as well as their communities,” Barber said.
