Open house planned for Collin College – Farmersville campus

by | May 20, 2021 | Latest

Collin College will host a community open house event at its new Farmersville Campus from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22.

The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The open house will include opportunities to explore the campus, learn about programs being offered and to register for summer or fall courses. Refreshments and promotional items will be available while supplies last.

Executive Dean Diana Hopes has been at the campus for several months and has become involved in the community.

“We are so excited about our upcoming family-friendly open house and eager to meet the residents of eastern Collin County,” Hopes said. “Guests can tour the beautiful, full-service campus and learn about the various programs, courses, and upcoming events.”

Since opening in mid-March, the campus has hosted a city event for a Sister City signing ceremony and a Farmersville Rotary Club meeting.

The facility can serve up to 1,250 students when fully utilized, with seven classrooms, three computer labs, two science labs and a dedicated health sciences workforce lab. Student-focused amenities include a career center, a library, a testing center, student services and tutoring at the Anthony Peterson Center for Academic Assistance.

The campus offers educational opportunities for traditional, dual credit and continuing education learners.

Classes will include general education, Business Management, Computer/IT, Logistics, Activity Care Professional, Medical Assisting Advanced Practice and Continuing Education classes.

The Farmersville Campus is located at 501 S. Collin Parkway in Farmersville. Visit www.collin.edu/campuses/ farmersville for more information about the campus.
