Michael David Dean, 68, of Farmersville, Texas, passed away Oct. 20, 2026, in McKinney, Texas.
Born Jan. 28, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, Michael was the youngest of four sons born to James R. Dean and Veda Pauline Ballew. He grew up in the Mesquite and Collin County areas, eventually making Farmersville his home.
At 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served honorably. He later built a career in the heating and air conditioning industry.
Known to most as Mike, he enjoyed good times, good friends and a good laugh. With his sarcastic humor and occasional disregard for the rules, he was truly one of a kind. He was especially proud of his sons, who followed in his footsteps through military service and careers in the skilled trades.
Michael shared a meaningful relationship and many years with his wife, Joanna Crawford Stone.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna; sons, Russell David Dean and Ronnie Alan Dean, and their wives; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Stephen Errol Gibson and Bruce Wayne Dean; stepsister, Kathy Ann Norfleet; and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Douglas Dean.
Michael leaves behind fond memories, plenty of stories and a family who loved him. He will be greatly missed, and his family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace in Heaven, reunited with loved ones who passed before him.
