Morris “Hooker” Raymond Reavis

Morris “Hooker” Raymond Reavis, age 94, passed away on August 20, 2026, in Denison, Texas. He was born on February 3, 1932, in Locker, Texas, to Raymond and Arba (Solsbery) Reavis. Morris served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956.

Morris met LoEtta Bates while attending Southeastern State in Durant, Oklahoma. They were united in marriage on June 6, 1956, in Antlers, Oklahoma.

Morris earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Southeastern State and later obtained his master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. He spent eight years teaching and serving as head football coach at U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City. He later worked as a sales manager for more than 20 years and dedicated over 50 years to ranching.

Morris stayed involved with football by serving as an announcer for many Farmersville football games. He also enjoyed reading the newspaper and drinking coffee.

Morris is survived by his sons, David Reavis and his wife, Alyse, and Chris Reavis and his wife, Lori; and his grandchildren, Calvin Reavis and his wife, Lauren, Aaron Reavis, Cory Reavis, and Matthew Reavis.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, LoEtta Reavis, and his parents, Raymond and Arba Reavis.

A visitation was held at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home on Monday, August 24, 2026, with the funeral service following. Intermet was at I.O.O.F Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Tatum Elementary, Attn: Anna Baker, 501 A Hwy 78 North, Farmersville, Texas 75442.
