The Farmersville Historical Society has been quite busy as of late, both with meetings and special events.

The society met Sept. 14 at the Carlisle Civic Center where the membership and several guests enjoyed a repast before Program Chairman Loydell Seward introduced guest speaker Don Newsom.

Newsom is a retired educator who during his 38-year career was a teacher, coach, campus principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent in public schools in Texas, and a college-level teacher.

For the complete story see The Farmersville Times e-edition or pick up a copy of the Sept. 24 edition.
