Education and the importance of it was recognized as Farmersville graduate Cecil Dugger was inducted into the FHS Ex-Student’s Association Hall of Fame.
“Needless to say, Cecil Dugger has been involved in the betterment of humanity on a grand scale,” Association President Larry Wisdom said. “Upon examining Cecil Dugger’s resume, I’m reminded of the philosophy of a former president and statesman, Woodrow Wilson. He stated, ‘We are not here to make a living. We are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. We are here to enrich the world, and we impoverish ourselves if we forget the errand.’”
In addition to his educational and industrial accomplishments, Dugger also served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954, serving as a supervisor in the installation maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and as an electrical inspector. He received this country’s decorations for Good Conduct, China Service, Korean Service and National Defense from 1951 to 1954.
