Farmers and Fleas celebrates 13th year of local markets

As shopping local campaigns flee toward the future, the Farmers and Fleas market offers a wide number of opportunities for shopping.

Aug. 5 marked the 13th anniversary of the Farmers and Fleas market in downtown Farmersville.

“This market has given us a consistent downtown event that serves to bring folks to town. Its advertising reinforces the message that downtown Farmersville is a great place to visit and shop! Moreover, the vendors enjoy the market and have become our city ‘ambassadors’ by spreading the word about a great place to be,” Farmersville Main Street Manager Adah Leah Wolf said.

Unlike when the market began 13 years ago, visitors and shoppers now have more to discover in downtown Farmersville. It also serves as an excellent opportunity, Wolf said, for businesses to ‘test the waters’ before launching into a full-scale business.
