Easter hoppenings come to Farmersville

Farmersville and its surrounding cities have no shortage of Easter egg hunting opportunities.

At First Baptist Church of Farmersville, the annual Easter Eggstravaganza will be taking place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24 next to the youth warehouse in the parking lot and grassy areas located on Farmersville Parkway.

There will be bounce houses, train ride, petting zoo and Easter Egg hunts.

The event is free, organizers said.

First Baptist Church will also be having a Good Friday service at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Easter services with special choral music at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Easter Sunday.

First United Methodist Church of Farmersville will be hosting several Easter events as well.

FUMC will host their Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 29.

Their free community-wide Easter Egg hunt will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 31.

Easter services will be held at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, April 1.

The annual VFW Post Easter Egg hunt will occur at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31 behind the post located at 671 W. Audie Murphy Pkwy.

There will be three hunts, divided by area including birth to 3- years-old, 4- to 10-years old and 10 and above.

Each age group will have a prize egg and be eligible to win an Easter basket full of goodies.

There will also be lunch provided including hot dogs, chips and drinks.
