Audie Murphy Day, summer events on horizon in June

A slew of summertime events are on the horizon for residents including Audie Murphy Day.

Summer fun kicks off on Friday, June 7, Farmersville’s Summer Music series will begin with a concert at the Onion Shed and City Park. The Blandells will be performing beginning at 7 p.m.

Food vendors will be set up for dinner and snacks starting at 6:30 p.m.

Citizens are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on while listening to the music.

Additional concerts will be offered in July and August. The event is sponsored by the Centennial Inc. organization.

Another event on the horizon is the annual Cops and Rodders Car Show that will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 15.

The event will be held in downtown Farmersville and proceeds go to benefit the Farmersville Police Association.
