New moves in city leadership

Farmersville Police Chief Michael Sullivan is retiring from his post as the city’s top cop, but he isn’t going to ride just yet into any sunsets.

Instead, Sullivan is assuming a new role as assistant city manager.

Sullivan’s new assignment takes effect Oct. 1, according to a press release issued by City Hall. Moreover, Police Lt. Marsha Phillips will succeed Sullivan as city police chief. Phillips has served with the Farmersville Police Department since 2012.
