Farmersville FFA officers are preparing to represent their chapter and community at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis Oct. 29-Nov. 1.
The annual event is one of the largest youth leadership conferences in the nation, offering members the chance to learn, compete and showcase their school and community on a national stage.
“Going to the National FFA Convention is an unforgettable experience,” said Delaney Thomas, ag science teacher. “Students get to attend big sessions with inspiring speakers, national officers, and recognition of FFA achievements.”
Thomas said students also will have the chance to watch national contests, celebrate members earning awards and the American FFA Degree, and explore the expansive Career and College Expo to meet representatives from colleges and agricultural companies.
In addition, members take part in community service projects in Indianapolis, attend fun events such as the FFA concert and rodeo, and spend time exploring downtown with their chapter. “It’s a week full of leadership, friendships, and memories you’ll never forget,” Thomas said.
To help make the trip possible, the Farmersville High School FFA is seeking sponsorships. Several levels are available, and all sponsors will be recognized for their support.
“Our officers will also be visiting local businesses and would love the opportunity to stop by and share more if you are interested,” Thomas said. “Support will help us cover travel, lodging and registration costs. Sponsors will be recognized on apparel and organization banners.”
Community members who would like to support Farmersville FFA on the national stage can contact an FFA officer—Addison Adams, Garrett Williams, Paxstyn Adams, Carson Dillard, Brady Johnson, Presley McIver, Piper Long or Addison Horton—or an agriculture teacher for more information.
