Farmersville ISD agricultural science students earned multiple championships, sale qualifications and top finishes at the 2026 Collin County Junior Livestock Show and Sale, held Jan. 3–9 at Myers Park in McKinney, competing across multiple livestock, ag mechanic and horticulture divisions.
Farmersville FFA exhibitors opened the show with strong results in breeding and market rabbit competition. In breeding rabbits, Hinlee Hatcher earned first place in Black Junior Doe Polish, Broken Junior Buck Polish and REW Senior Buck Polish, along with Best of Variety Chocolate Polish, and was named Reserve Champion Junior Showman. Preslee Calverley placed first in Senior Buck Dutch and earned Reserve Breed Champion honors. Ellie Dillard placed second in Holland Lop Senior Buck and also competed in showmanship.
Market rabbit exhibitors included Kase Thompson, who placed sixth and qualified for the sale, and Hinlee Hatcher, who placed ninth in the lightweight division.
Farmersville students also posted strong performances in the market lamb show. Addison Horton earned first place in Class 7 Medium Wool and second place in Class 3 Medium Wool, was named Champion Senior Showman and qualified for the sale. Alison Dillard placed third in Class 3 Southdown and second in Class 7 Medium Wool, qualifying for the sale. Callie Christenson earned third in Class 4 Medium Wool and qualified for the sale, while Carson Dillard placed second in Class 2 Southdown and second in Dorper, earning Reserve Champion Dorper honors and qualifying for the sale. Additional sale qualifiers included Cypress Tyson, who placed first in Class 5 Medium Wool; Ellie Dillard, who placed fourth in Class 2 Southdown; Gray Dillard, who placed fourth and third in Dorper; and Shaylee Green, who placed sixth in Class 6 Medium Wool.
The swine show produced several champions and sale qualifiers for Farmersville ISD. Addison Horton earned first place in Class 3 White OPB and Class 39 Cross, was named Breed Champion in both divisions, and earned Reserve Champion Swine honors while qualifying for the sale. Klayden Powell earned first place in Class 31 Yorkshire, winning Breed Champion Yorkshire, and first place in Class 38 Cross for Reserve Breed Champion Cross, also qualifying for the sale. Addison Adams placed first in Class 1 White OPB and third in Class 6 Black OPB, qualifying for the sale.
Additional swine results included Alison Dillard placing sixth in Class 19 Duroc; Bella Blackburn placing seventh in Class 13 Berkshire; Blake Berumen placing seventh in Class 23 Hampshire and first in Class 36 Cross to qualify for the sale; Blake Strickland placing third in Class 7 Black OPB and qualifying for the sale; Carson Dillard placing fifth in Class 20 Duroc and fourth in Class 26 Hampshire; Cole Feagin placing third in Class 19 Duroc and second in Class 24 Hampshire; Gray Dillard placing third in Class 12 Berkshire; Judd Long placing ninth in Class 14 Berkshire; and Kase Thompson placing sixth in Class 23 Hampshire and first in Class 37 Cross.
Other placements included Landree Jackson placing ninth in Class 8 Black OPB and first in Class 13 Berkshire; Madee Riley placing second in Class 1 White OPB and second in Class 36 Cross; Olivia Lee placing fifth in Class 2 White OPB; Paxstyn Adams placing sixth in Class 8 Black OPB and sixth in Class 25 Hampshire; Piper Long placing sixth in Class 3 White OPB and ninth in Class 25 Hampshire; Raylee Gates placing seventh in Class 8 Black OPB and third in Class 14 Berkshire; Remington Gilliam placing fifth in Class 29 Yorkshire and fifth in Class 35 Cross; and Wyatt Jackson placing second and 10th in Berkshire classes. All listed sale qualifiers will participate in the online add-on sale.
Carson Dillard, Brady Johnson, Kevin Soto and Antony Rivera teamed up and took third place in the Ag Mechanic Build-Off.
In the heifer division, Ava Piekarski earned first in class and Reserve Champion Maine Anjou, second in class and Reserve Champion ORB and Reserve Champion in Senior Showmanship. Garrett Williams won second place in Class 7 British Steer.
Farmersville students also earned multiple top placements in Horticulture. Addison Horton received first place in permanent class (themed), third place in live class (themed) and Reserve Champion in the permanent division. Ellie Dillard won first in live round class, and Alison Dillard won second in live asymmetrical.
Several Farmersville ISD students will advance to the Collin County Junior Livestock Show Sale of Champions premium auction after earning Champion or Reserve Champion honors, including Addison Horton, Carson Dillard and Klayden Powell.
“Farmersville FFA students delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Collin County Junior Livestock Show, bringing home multiple championships, reserve championships, and dozens of top-three placings across livestock, horticulture, and skill-based events,” said Delaney Bruhn, FHS Ag Science Teacher.
