For the second week in a row, the Farmersville and Princeton cross country teams competed in the same meet.
Although the Fightin’ Farmers and Panthers competed in different divisions at the Kaufman Run with the Lions meet Friday morning, both programs made their mark with plenty of success.
Senior Breelynn Pollard competed in her first race of the 2026 season. Pollard, a returning state qualifier, ran to third place in the girls’ varsity race with a time of 12:56.38.
“It was great to see Breelynn run and her time was really close to her state time from last year, so we are looking to build on that time and get her time down even further throughout the year,” said Farmersville head girls coach Rebecca Christ. “Bree ran well in Kaufman especially since she was off a long weekend of volleyball before and a volleyball game Tuesday night and back to running Thursday morning.
We are managing her miles right now during tournament season of volleyball. She will continue to improve through the season and I’m excited about her future in running.”
Junior Landen Ware continued to lead the efforts for the Farmersville boys’ team. He finished eighth in the boys’ 4A-and-under division with a time of 16:52.07.
Sophomore Jesse Hamm posted the next-fastest time for Farmersville, clocking an 18:08.3, good for 32nd place. Senior Luke Lair finished in 34thplace with an 18:18.52. Senior Travis Chambers rounded out the efforts for the Farmers, earning a 68th-place finish in a time of 19:38.56.
