It has been 50 years since Farmersville lost its only citizen killed in the Vietnam War. While remembering Tommy Caraway and Audie Murphy Saturday, June 23, the grief was still perceivable.

To honor Caraway, who was the absentee Grand Marshal of the Audie Murphy Day parade, a riderless horse led by Molly Hunt was walked around the downtown square prior to the start of the parade.

Hunt wore all black, symbolizing Caraway’s widow left behind by the vestiges of war.
