Editor’s note: This is the second in a three part series over adoption and foster care.

The decision to adopt a child is not an easy one but for some people it involves a leap of faith.

Farmersville couple Tanya and Chris Lair followed through on their leap of faith three times in the last six years despite challenges along the way.

Early on in their marriage, Tanya knew that God was calling them to adopt but they had many doubts and plenty of fear as to how it would all transpire.

“You see, in the eyes of the world, this decision was completely crazy,” she said. “We did not know anyone personally who was adopted, and we did not know a single family who had ever adopted or wanted to adopt. We also knew that we would have zero family support if we chose to go down this scary and unknown road.”
