All four incumbent trustees have filed for re-election to the Farmersville Independent School District’s board of trustees with the election set for May 1.
Paul Kelly, Dale Pickett, Tony Gray and David Coleman have each submitted an application for re-election to their current seats.
Kelly, the board’s vice-president, as filed for Place 1. Dale Pickett, the board’s secretary, has filed for Place 2. Gray serves as the board’s president and has filed for Place 3. David Coleman has filed for re-election to Place 4.
No other applications have been filed for the board.
Farmersville city council
The city of Farmersville will also hold a May 1 election for Places 1, 3 and 5 held by Craig Overstreet, Jim Hemby and Dwain Mathers, respectively.
One application has been filed for Place 3, but according to City Secretary Sandra Green, the application has been denied because the candidate lives outside of city limits.
The applicant, Ye Sung Sohn, filed an application on Feb. 8 with a listed address of CR 597.
The deadline to apply for either school board or city council is 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12.
Applications should be returned at the FISD administration building for the trustee election and at city hall for city council applicants.
The last day to register to vote for the upcoming elections is April 1.
Early voting is scheduled to begin on April 19 and end on April 27.
