Larry Eldon Bates, 71, of Farmersville, passed away on July 9, 2015, in Farmersville. Larry was born May 7, 1944, in McKinney, to James Eldon and Rebecca (McGarrah) Bates. He helped his fa- ther in the construction business, building houses. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his father, James Eldon Bates; sister, Dianne Talley; niece, Kim Abbott; nephews, Casey Talley and Kirk Talley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and many friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Bates.

A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville. The Rev. David Meeks officiated. Interment followeded at I. O. O. F. Cem- etery in Farmersville. The family received friends during a visita- tion from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
