The Farmersville ISD school board recently approved several changes to employee, student and athletics handbooks.

At a meeting Monday, July 23, the board voted to update the district’s handbooks. Many of the changes involve dress code.

Officials hope that tightening up the dress code will make it easier to understand and more coherent across the district. They are also trying to focus on what is a real distraction in the classroom, omitting phrases they deemed unnecessary and adding words that clarify.

Changes were also made to the definition of an honors graduate.
