As retail changes and shopping flees toward the future, the Farmers and Fleas market offers a wide number of opportunities both for vendors and eager shoppers.

Saturday, Aug. 4 marked the 14th anniversary of the Farmers and Fleas market in downtown Farmersville.

“The Farmers and Fleas Market offers a unique way for area vendors to sell their wares, while in turn creating a way of attracting visitors to the downtown area. It’s important to keep downtown in the mind’s eye of the community, but we cannot forget that we also have visitors from across DFW who visit for a day trip. All in all, the market acts a front door from a broad swath of individuals both locally and from afar, and has become an important staple of our downtown’s commerce,” Farmersville Main Street Manager Reagan Rothenberger said.
